Introducing our exquisite Kerala Mural painting, Dakshinamurti – a captivating portrayal of the Hindu god Shiva, the divine guru and embodiment of supreme consciousness. This stunning artwork encapsulates the essence of wisdom, meditation, and knowledge through the depiction of Shiva as a learned teacher(guru) under a majestic banyan tree.
The focal point of the painting is Shiva seated under the sprawling branches of the banyan tree, facing the south – a characteristic pose of Dakshinamurti. With his right foot gracefully placed on the mythical apasmara (a demon), symbolising triumph over ignorance, and his left foot folded on his lap. Before Dakshinamurthy, wise sages like Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatsujata, and Sanatkumara, Brahma's sons, seek enlightenment through silent teachings, transcending words. The divine bull, Shiva's faithful companion, provides a stable seat for the deity.
The colour palette of this masterpiece is a harmonious blend of mud orange tones with subtle hints of blue strategically placed throughout the painting. The artist has skillfully incorporated small floral framing, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal and creating a visual symphony that complements the spiritual significance of the subject.
This Dakshinamurti painting is not just a work of art; it is a spiritual journey captured on canvas. Perfect for those seeking a piece that resonates with the divine energy of Shiva as the ultimate teacher of yoga, music, and wisdom. Invite the essence of contemplation and knowledge into your space with this exceptional piece that speaks to both the heart and the soul.
