Bring home the divine blessings of prosperity, wealth, and auspicious energy with this magnificent hand-painted Madhubani painting of Goddess Lakshmi. Handcrafted by women artists from the Mithila region of Bihar, this authentic piece of Mithila folk art is rendered on handmade paper — a timeless addition to your home or a thoughtful heritage gift.
The goddess stands majestically, facing forward, her four arms each bearing sacred attributes. Her upper hands hold blooming pink lotus flowers, symbols of purity and spiritual enlightenment. Her lower left hand holds a purna-ghata — a sacred kalash with coconut and mango leaves, representing abundance — while her lower right hand showers coins, the eternal gesture of Lakshmi bestowing wealth and prosperity. She is adorned with an elaborate crown, fish-shaped eyes (meenakshi) characteristic of Mithila portraiture, and traditional jewellery including necklaces, armlets, and bangles.
True to the Madhubani tradition, not an inch of the composition is left empty. A glowing yellow halo and an arched backrest dense with red-and-white floral and dot motifs frame the central figure. The entire painting is bound by a multi-layered geometric border of alternating blue and brown triangles, finished with a bold black outer frame.
